After a public tiktok went viral with the caption, “how to dodge without a penalty” which showed someone insta locking the agent Yoru and another player instantly dodging, it revealed that many people had very low expectations for the unpopular agent Yoru. This led people to crave a Yoru update that would let them take advantage of his toolset without criticism of other team members or constant dodging. Well now those Yoru fans can rejoice in the fact that Yoru will finally get the rework people have been craving.
Fakeout Ability
The first change comes to the Fakeout ability which allows Yoru to send fake footsteps along a certain path and instead of just the sound, the ability can now send out an entire clone that people will see running at them. When people damage this Yoru that they see running at them, the clone will explode and cause a debuff to enemies. Not only does it explode when shot but the clone will flash toward the agent who shot it leaving the enemy team to second guess if they should shoot a charging Yoru.
Gatecrash Ability
The Gatecrash ability which allows Yoru to place a rift that he can teleport to at a later time to either get out of a gunfight or to get behind enemy lines, now has an improved travel time. When Yoru sends his rift it will travel 20% faster and will be more difficult for enemies to hear and less visible. On top of the speed and reduced sensibility, Yoru can now use a fake teleport which will give the same visual and audio as if he were actually teleporting. Yoru, which was meant to serve as a an agent of deceit, now has the ability to make the enemy second guess everything.
Dimensional Drift Ultimate Ability
The Ultimate ability which allowed Yoru to sprint full speed around the map while invisible is getting several improvements. Yoru will now be invisible to enemies for the entire ult regardless of proximity whereas the original revealed his aura when he was within six meters. Yoru is also now able to cast all of his abilities while within dimensional rift whereas his original only allowed him to run around the map for information. Even though the enemy team can now hear his footsteps while in his ult, Yoru no longer has a near sighted effect of 16 meters and can see any distance on the map. In exchange for these improvements, Yoru will no longer be able to benefit from the invulnerability tactic that people would use to get out of death. This would be acheived by Yoru peeking and as soon as he would be shot, the ult will be activated and while in the animation would not be able to be shot or damaged. This is no longer possible.
Even though there is no set day for this rework to go live, Yoru fans can take comfort in the knowing their favorite agent will be a viable option for comp
